ESTHER ROSE GOOD TIME

Esther Rose’s latest effort is a folk-tinged banger called ‘Good Time’. The track is a bopping, bouncing sing-along that centres on an uplifting phrase laced with sarcasm and wit: ‘It’s a real good time for bad timing’. The track’s inspiration came from a 15-hour drive from Wisconsin to New Orleans, in which Rose ended up breaking down and being towed through Nashville. Rounded guitar notes fill the gaps in texture throughout before bursting into melodic improvisation towards the end. It is taken from her upcoming album, How Many Times, which promises to be full of great tracks. -Dan Peeke
